Jacinthe Leroux, founder of Concept Dezign, has been named official spokesperson for the Alzheimer Society of Haut-Richelieu on the occasion of its 35ᵉ anniversary. She will use her design expertise and human commitment to raise awareness of the disease and support caregivers.
Driven from an early age by her passion for architectural visual art, Jacinthe has completed thousands of residential and commercial projects over the past two decades. She was recently featured in the documentary Quand les rôles s’inversent broadcast on ICI TOU.TV, where she reveals a more intimate side of her role as caregiver.
For the past five years, she has been accompanying her mother Claudette, 90, living with Alzheimer’s disease. During the pandemic, she reorganized their home to preserve her autonomy; today, she shares short, touching videos of their daily lives on social networks, becoming a source of inspiration for the whole community.
In her role as spokesperson, Jacinthe will support SAHR’s mission: to prevent, detect, understand and support Alzheimer’s disease and other neurocognitive disorders. According to a study by Appui pour les proches aidants, a third of Quebecers play this role, often in the shadows. By sharing her experience, she is helping to destigmatize this reality and highlight the crucial importance of available resources.
« Being a caregiver for the past five years has transformed my vision of life. Despite the daily challenges, I want to encourage everyone to get involved with their loved ones, to get informed and to discover the richness that this role brings to seniors. »
– Jacinthe Leroux
Join her at the 20ᵉ edition of the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Ronald-Beauregard Open Air Centre.
